Overview
A full academic-year program for students who want to learn game design and development through Roblox Studio. Across the season, students move from beginner-to-intermediate game creation into more advanced design systems, scripting logic, and multiplayer game experiences.
This Academy is ideal for students who are excited by interactive worlds, gameplay mechanics, and the creative side of coding. Students build real Roblox projects while developing stronger problem-solving, design, and development habits.
Best for
Ages 10–14
Best for students who enjoy games, creativity, design, and beginner-to-intermediate coding
Some previous coding experience is helpful but not required, depending on placement level
Learning goals
Students will:
- learn to build and organize projects in Roblox Studio
- understand core game design concepts such as objectives, progression, and player experience
- develop scripting confidence through Roblox Lua
- build interactive systems such as checkpoints, leaderboards, timers, and game logic
- improve debugging and iterative design skills
- create polished games they can present and continue developing
Year at a glance
Fall Term: Foundations of Roblox Creation
Students learn the Roblox Studio environment, object placement, world-building, interface basics, and introductory scripting. They begin creating playable experiences and learn how game structure and player interaction work together.
Winter Term: Systems, Mechanics, and Scripting
Students build more complex game systems such as score tracking, respawn systems, inventory concepts, progression loops, and multiplayer-friendly mechanics. They strengthen coding fluency and begin designing more intentionally for users.
Spring Term: Advanced Project Development and Showcase
Students plan, build, refine, and present a larger final Roblox project. The emphasis shifts toward project ownership, polish, testing, and communicating design choices.

Format and expectations
Weekly live cohort-based sessions throughout the academic year
Students are expected to attend regularly and participate in builds, testing, and feedback
Optional extension work may be provided for students who want to deepen their projects between classes
End-of-year outcome
Students finish the year with stronger scripting skills, a deeper understanding of game systems, and at least one polished Roblox project they can showcase.
