Academic Year Academies
Built for the full school year
Full-year programs for students ready to go further!
Specialized Sept–May programs for students who want a structured, cohort-based path in coding, game development, and computer science.
Coder Sports Academic Year Academies are structured September-to-May programs for pre-teens and teens who want a more focused path in coding, game development, and computer science.
Unlike drop-in classes or short workshops, each Academy follows a dedicated curriculum, meets on a consistent weekly schedule, and helps students build real skills over time through guided instruction, projects, and cohort-based learning.
Families can join an Academy as a standalone program, or current members can add one on for a deeper specialty experience.

What Makes an Academy Different
Structured Sept-to-May programs for serious young creators
- Full year: Students progress across the academic year instead of restarting every few weeks.
- Cohort-based: Students learn alongside a consistent group of peers, building community and continuity.
- Specialized: Each program focuses on a defined subject area, such as Roblox, Unity, Python, or computer science.
- Project-driven Students apply what they learn through cumulative projects, design challenges, and portfolio-building work.
- Instructor-led: Every session is guided by a live instructor who provides direction, feedback, and support.
- Built for growth: These programs are designed to help students mature as coders, creators, and problem-solvers over time.
Program Philosophy
Academic structure with creative energy
We created our Academic Year Academies for families who want something more intentional than a short course, while still keeping learning engaging, modern, and student-centered.
Our goal is to combine:
- the consistency of an academic-year program
- the excitement of hands-on coding and creative projects
- the confidence that comes from real progress over time
Students do not just “try coding.” They build fluency, discipline, and ownership in a specialized area.
What students gain from the Academy experience
Over the course of the year, students can expect to build:
Technical skill
A stronger command of the tools, languages, and concepts used in their program.
Problem-solving ability
The confidence to debug, experiment, revise, and think logically through challenges.
Project experience
A body of work that reflects their growth and gives them something concrete to share.
Consistency and focus
The habit of showing up, building week after week, and working toward longer-term goals.
Readiness for the next level
A strong foundation for more advanced coding, computer science, game development, and future academic pathways.
A clear, structured commitment for the school year
Families often tell us they are looking for something more consistent than camps, more focused than casual enrichment, and more engaging than traditional tutoring.
Academic Year Academies were built to meet that need.
Each program provides:
- a defined theme and curriculum
- a fixed weekly schedule
- live instruction and support
- a more serious and rewarding long-term experience
It is a format that respects both the student’s ambition and the family’s investment.
