Computer Science University Summer Prep Workshop

Jul 05 2024 - Aug 09 2024

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Is your high school graduate planning to study Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM field at an accredited university in Fall 2022? Our new weekly two-hour summer workshop can give them a head start on the practical “hands-on” elements of their first year curriculum.

Our university prep workshop is designed to help students who are entering university, primarily with the intent of studying software engineering, computer science or mathematics. The workshop will also benefit all STEM focused students. We will focus on ensuring teens have the practical experiences they will need to plan, design, and complete increasingly complex computer science assignments and projects. The program is not intended to replace academic elements of the curriculum, which can be managed during the first year.

Led by experienced instructors, our hands-on workshops will cover topics such as Python and JavaScript, software development, and team coding projects. We’ll also provide guidance on best practices for time management, collaboration, and effective study habits to ensure students are ready for the rigors of university life.

The program meets on Friday evenings for two hours and requires an additional 7-10 hours per week to complete assignments and coding projects. Acceptance into an accredited university undergraduate STEM program is required for consideration. If your teen has successfully completed ISC4U, please speak with our team before applying to ensure that the program will be beneficial.
